Colours, shapes and sizes
The adjectives you describe anything with — and the four that refuse to take an ending.
Colour words are adjectives and behave like all the others: no ending after sein, endings in front of a noun. Das Auto ist rot, but ein rotes Auto. Four of them do not. Rosa, lila, beige and orange arrived from other languages as nouns and never joined the German adjective system, so they stay unchanged everywhere: ein rosa Hemd. Speakers who dislike that say ein rosafarbenes Hemd instead, which does decline.
