Auf dem Markt
Shopping at a Saturday market, with prices and one small mistake.
Numbers, prices and the accusative. Whatever is bought or paid is the object of the sentence, and only the masculine article shows it: der Euro becomes einen Euro, while eine Gurke and ein Kilo stay as they are.
Am Samstag geht Anna auf den Markt. Der Markt ist klein, aber es gibt viel Obst und Gemüse.
Anna kauft ein Kilo Äpfel und eine Gurke. Die Äpfel kosten drei Euro. Die Gurke kostet einen Euro.
Dann kauft sie noch Brot und Käse. Der Mann am Stand sagt: „Das macht zusammen zehn Euro.“
Anna gibt ihm zwanzig Euro. Er gibt ihr fünf Euro zurück. Anna sagt: „Entschuldigung, das ist zu wenig.“ Der Mann lacht und gibt ihr noch fünf Euro.
