La panne du chauffage
A cold flat, a phone call and a repairman who comes late.
The text you need the words for before you have learned them. It lives on a sentence pattern that carries almost everything that goes wrong in French, and it has no subject: il n’y a plus d’eau chaude, il y a une fuite, ça ne marche pas. Nobody is to blame, something just is so — and on the phone that is the easier way to start.
Vendredi l’homme arrive à neuf heures.
