More about this list Describing a room gets surprisingly far on delante and detrás , and then stops. This list collects the rest. The word to carry away is el rincón , in el rincón muerto . Spanish has two words where English has one. El rincón is the corner seen from inside, where two walls meet and the room narrows — the reading corner, the dead space behind a wardrobe. La esquina is the corner seen from outside, the one a building turns and a street has: el bar de la esquina . English says « corner » for both and leaves the sentence to sort it out, which is why « meet me at the corner » is clear enough outdoors and hopeless in a flat.
