This list came out of drawing the pictures, and that is its real point: the stock knew el espejo retrovisor and el espejo cóncavo but not the mirror itself. A picture can be drawn for el espejo and not for el espejo cóncavo, so it was the drawing that found the gap. One word here does the work of two English ones. El reloj is the clock on the wall and the watch on a wrist, and where the wrist has to be said it is el reloj de pulsera. English chose two words for the same machine depending on where it hangs; Spanish did not.
