More about this list

In an emergency a few words are enough: Ratunku! “Help!”, Pali się! “Fire!”, Proszę wezwać karetkę! “Call an ambulance!” The general emergency number in Poland is 112, as across the EU. “To call the police” is dzwonić na policję, with na and the accusative, and at the station you are na policji. Many verbs in this list are perfective, because an accident happens once: ukraść, wezwać, uderzyć się.
