하다-verbs for work and the news

The Sino-Korean verbs of reports, meetings and the news.

Almost every verb here is a two-syllable Sino-Korean noun plus 하다, and in a headline the 하다 is often dropped: 사고 발생, “accident occurs”. Many have a partner in 되다 for what happens by itself: you 진행하다 a meeting, and the meeting 진행되다. These are the verbs of reports, meetings and the news; in a chat with friends a plainer word usually does the job.
