하다-verbs for effort, plans and experience

Verbs made from a noun and 하다 for trying, succeeding, planning and taking part.

Most of these verbs are a Sino-Korean noun with 하다 after it, and the noun can stand on its own: 노력is effort노력하다to make an effort Many can be split by a particle — 노력을 많이 했어요 — which is how an adverb gets in. Watch the particles: you take part in, attend and take on things with 에, not with the object particle: 회의에 참석하다, 마라톤에 도전하다.
