Everyday shopping
The supermarket, the local shops, sizes, discounts and refunds.
Shop staff call you 손님, “guest”, and you will hear it at the start of almost every question they ask. Many shops are named by what they sell plus 가게, “shop”: 과일가게, 옷가게. Taking something back is either 바꾸다, to exchange it, or 환불, a refund — and for both the receipt is the first thing anyone asks for.
