Colds, fevers and small injuries, the doctor and the chemist.
Where it hurts is the subject of 아프다: 목이 아파요, “my throat hurts”. Medicine is eaten, not taken — 약을 먹다 — even when it is a syrup. A cold is something you get caught by: 감기에 걸렸어요. In Korea people usually go straight to a small clinic for the problem they have — ear, nose and throat, children, eyes — and collect the medicine at a chemist next door.
