Posting, streaming, reviews, privacy and the darker side of the web.
Much of this vocabulary comes from the news, where the internet is discussed in formal kanji compounds: data is 流出, leaked, and may be 悪用, misused. Alongside them sits a casual layer of katakana and kana words such as ネタバレ, a spoiler, and なりすまし, an impostor account. Several older words took on a new sense online: 晒す, to leave something out in the sun and the weather, also means putting someone's private details on show, and 特定, identifying, often means tracking down who someone is.
