Renting, repairs, bedding, housework and the things that go wrong in a house.

Housework in Hindi is “applied”: you apply a broom (झाड़ू लगाना), a mop (पोंछा लगाना) or a lock (ताला लगाना). Repairs bring in the tradespeople — the प्लंबर, the इलेक्ट्रीशियन — and the landlord, the मकान मालिक. Moving house is simply शिफ़्ट होना.
