A New Friend
A new student from abroad, a first conversation and a lunch together.
Introductions: names, countries, what someone likes. The question words कहाँ, कौन and क्या all appear, and so does the polite आप with its plural verb forms.
आज हमारे स्कूल में एक नई लड़की आई। उसका नाम एमा है। वह जर्मनी से है।
एमा ने कहा, "नमस्ते। मेरा नाम एमा है। मैं बारह साल की हूँ। मैं थोड़ी हिंदी बोलती हूँ।"
छुट्टी के समय प्रिया एमा के पास गई और पूछा, "तुम कहाँ रहती हो?" एमा ने कहा, "मैं स्कूल के पास रहती हूँ।"
दोपहर को दोनों ने साथ में खाना खाया। एमा ने दाल-चावल खाए और प्रिया ने रोटी और सब्ज़ी। अब दोनों दोस्त हैं।
