Grief and joy, fear and relief, longing and resentment, in the words of careful writing.
At this level the question is no longer how you feel but exactly how, and many of these words are the written counterparts of everyday ones: 喜悦 for 高兴, 愤怒 for 生气, 恐惧 for 害怕. Others name a feeling English needs a phrase for: 惋惜 is regret over something lost that was not your fault, 心寒 the chill of being let down by people you trusted. Most work as adjectives after 很 or 感到, and with 让 to say what caused them.
