Eating out

Ordering, the table, the bill, and being hungry or full.

Nobody waits to be noticed in a Korean restaurant: you call 여기요 and somebody comes. Main dishes are often shared from the middle of the table, with small side dishes, 반찬, that come with the meal and are usually topped up without charge. Hungry, full and thirsty are adjectives built on parts of the body: 배고프다is “belly is hungry”목마르다“throat is dry”
