False friends from English
Loanwords whose Korean meaning is not the English one.
English loanwords are everywhere in Korean, and these are the ones that mislead. Some changed meaning on the way (서비스 is something given free), some came by way of Japanese (다스, a dozen), and some were put together in Korea from English parts (셀카, from “self camera”). Each hint gives the word an English speaker would actually use. Korean speakers sometimes carry these words back into English, so it helps to know both directions.
