Idioms with parts of the body

Heavy mouths, thin ears and a big liver: character in body parts.

Korean puts character and feeling in the body. Many idioms are a body part, a subject particle and an adjective: 입이 무겁다, “the mouth is heavy”, describes someone who keeps secrets, and 귀가 얇다, “the ears are thin”, someone easily talked into things. A few sound like English (머리를 맞대다, to put heads together); most do not, and courage lives in the liver: 간이 크다.
