English has a word that looks exactly like it and means something else entirely — « analytics » is what a company does to its sales data, and no nurse has ever used it. English calls this « a blood test » or, in a hospital, « the labs ». The Spanish noun is feminine and stands on its own, which is the part to remember: tengo una analítica el martes is a complete sentence about a Tuesday morning with no breakfast in it.
