Seasons, monsoon and typhoons

Humid summers, chilly evenings, the rainy season, typhoons and the first snow.

In Korean, rain and snow “come”: 비가 와요, “it is raining”. Korea has four sharply different seasons and a fifth that everyone plans around, the summer rains of 장마. A change in the weather is usually said with -아/어지다, “to become”: 추워지다, 따뜻해지다 — a pattern worth learning here, because it works with almost every adjective.
