The clock and the calendar

Hours and minutes, the days of the week, the months and the parts of the day.

The clock uses both number sets at once: hours are native, minutes are Chinese, so 3:20 is 세 시 이십 분. Months are simply “one-month, two-month”, with two spellings to watch: June is 유월 and October 시월. Dates run from the large to the small — year, month, day. A clock time takes 에, “at”, but 오늘, 내일 and 어제 do not: 세 시에, but just 내일.
