The words for social media, privacy and the darker side of the internet.
A good half of these are English words in Korean sounds — 해킹, 팔로워, 인플루언서 — and they are easy until Korean shortens them or invents its own: 악플 is a clipped 악성 댓글, and 보이스 피싱 is everyday Korean while its source, “voice phishing”, is rare in English. The native and Sino-Korean words carry the serious side: 사생활, 개인 정보, 익명, and the verbs for what happens to information, 유출되다 and 확산되다.
