What holds these lists together

Three stretches of a single chain, and in Italy that is not a figure of speech: the label says which area a product comes from, the delivery note which port it came through, and the recipe what to do with it. The lists share few words and still complete one another. One of them shows how much wider an Italian word can be than the English loan taken from it. La pasta is not only spaghetti: it is any dough, so shortcrust pastry is la pasta frolla, and in a pastry shop una pasta is a single pastry.
