What holds these lists together

What you do on an ordinary day away from home: eating, shopping for food, asking the way, looking at the sky, the garden and the festival in the square. Between them these lists carry the three places where an Italian sentence holds or falls apart. Prepositions merge with the article — al bar, del pane, dalla stazione — where English keeps two words. The plural changes a vowel instead of adding «s»: la pizza, le pizze. And most adjectives follow the noun, so it is il vino rosso, never the other way round.
