Linking sentences

Words that open a sentence and tie it to the one before.

Inside one sentence, Korean links clauses with endings on the verb. Between two sentences it uses words like these, and many of them are built from 그, "that": 그러자, "and at that", 그래야, "only if you do that", 그런데도, "even so". Several tell you what kind of event follows: 그러자 and 그러더니 report something you saw happen, 그랬더니 something that followed what you did yourself. Some are spoken (그나저나, 그래 가지고), others belong in writing (그러므로, 따라서).
