What holds these lists together

The same subject at three distances: the single building, the street in front of it and the line that supplies both. The lists belong together because their words turn up in the same kind of text — the local paper, the planning consultation, the deed of sale — and because they share one difficulty: most of them name a step in a procedure rather than a thing. Il collaudo is not a place but the formal test a finished bridge, building or installation must pass before it may be used, which English covers with «acceptance test», «final inspection» or «commissioning», depending on the trade.
