Conjugation of regenen

  • Meaning to rain
  • Level A1
  • Pattern regular (-de) · conjugated like wonen
  • Auxiliary hebben

What is special about this verb

  • A weak verb: if the stem of the infinitive ends in t, k, f, s, ch or p (remember ’t kofschip), the past takes -te and the participle -t, otherwise -de and -d: regende, geregend. → Werkte or woonde: the regular imperfect
  • Used almost only in the third person: regent.

Bold and underlined: the ending. ◆ marks a form that breaks the rule.
