El correo de la obra is a person, and that is the whole trap. El correo is the post: lo mandé por correo, el correo electrónico, and Correos for the post office itself. It is also the courier, the one who travels with the crate and does not let it out of sight. English keeps « the mail » for the letters and « the courier » for the person, and would never say that the mail flew to Lisbon with the painting. Spanish has one word doing both jobs, and only the sentence around it says which.
