Shopping at the Supermarket
A shopping list, a price and a mistake at the till.
Numbers and prices. Japanese counts with counters: ringo o mittsu, three apples; gyuunyuu o ippon, one bottle of milk. The yen amounts are written in kanji here, as they often are in text.
土曜日の午後、由美さんはスーパーへ行きました。買い物の紙を持っていました。紙には「牛乳、卵、りんご、パン」と書いてありました。
果物の所にりんごがありました。一つ百円でした。由美さんはりんごを三つ買いました。
牛乳は一本二百円でした。卵は少し高かったです。でも、由美さんは卵が好きですから、買いました。
レジで店員さんは「千二百円です」と言いました。由美さんは財布から千五百円を出しました。お釣りは三百円でした。
家に帰って、由美さんは紙をもう一度見ました。「あ、パン!」パンを忘れました。由美さんはもう一度スーパーへ行きました。
