비 오는 날

An umbrella left at home, and a friend who has two.

Past tense: -았어요/-었어요. Notice how often Korean leaves out the subject when it is clear who is meant, and how 그래서 and 하지만 link two short sentences.

어제 아침에는 날씨가 좋았어요. 서준이는 우산을 안 가져갔어요.

하지만 오후에 구름이 많았어요. 수업이 끝나고 비가 많이 왔어요.

서준이는 학교 입구에서 기다렸어요. 비가 그치지 않았어요. 조금 추웠어요.

조금 뒤에 친구 수아가 왔어요. 수아는 우산이 두 개 있었어요. "이거 가져가. 내일 줘."

서준이는 수아에게 고맙다고 말했어요. 그리고 집에 잘 갔어요. 오늘은 우산을 가져가요.
